                  THE BRIDE GUIDE

      you’re getting friggen married!

                       WOO-HOO

These tips are for my lovely brides…

This is what-cha going to need to know!

…starting with the timeline

So a couple of months before your wedding, I’ll be sending you a wedding day timeline questionnaire. This questionnaire will help me develop a timeline that will best fit your needs, as well as time for photos!!

Now the key is to always leave some extra time and don’t cram in too much in a tight schedule. Always leave some wiggle room, cause to be honest.. nothing goes as planned on a wedding day and something might go wrong…it’s just bound to happen lol. Make sure to plan for things that may take longer than expected, that way everyone feels relaxed and not rushed/stressed.

Here is a sample timeline I’ve created to help guide your day! There is one with a first-look and the other is without a first-look.

Getting Ready

D E T A I L S

Okay!! So from the moment I arrive, please have the following things ready for me. These are going to be for the detail shots:

Items to have ready for me to photograph

                     (all may not apply)

HIS:  shoes, ring, ring box, bow tie or tie, pocket square, watch, cuff links, vow book. ect.

HERS: Invitations suite, shoes, rings, ring box vow book perfume ect.

Nice hanger for your dress

Your wedding dress is one of the most meaningful details of the day.

I’ll photograph it on its own before you get dressed, ideally near a window or in a clean, uncluttered space.

Please have it steamed and ready before my arrival if possible.

Your Dress

Getting Ready: Hair, Makeup & Attire

After photographing your details, I’ll begin capturing candid moments of you and your girls getting ready. I intentionally wait until hair and makeup are nearly complete so you look your best in photos — no half-done makeup or one eye finished and the other not 😉

Hair and makeup are some of the most emotional and joyful moments of the morning, and I document them candidly with gentle guidance when needed.

What to wear ideas

Because you’ll be photographed during this time, I recommend wearing something cute and camera-ready rather than oversized sweats or a t-shirt. Think:

  • A robe

  • Matching pajama sets

  • A button-down shirt

  • Anything you feel comfortable and confident in

This small detail makes a big difference in how your getting-ready photos look and feel.

Getting Ready Space

Natural light is one of the most important elements for beautiful photos.

If possible, choose a getting-ready space with large windows and plenty of natural light.

Dark rooms, heavy curtains, or dim lighting can affect the overall look of your images.

If you’re unsure about your space, feel free to send me photos ahead of time — I’m always happy to help guide you to the best option.

PLEASE PROVIDE A DETAILED FAMILY PHOTO LIST 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING:

List the groupings of family photos you would like taken after the ceremony.

BRIDE & GROOM WITH GROOM'S PARENTS (ACTUAL NAMES).

***This can be provided in a word document or email or whatever is easiest for you! Having this helps make the family photos go much smoother and in a timely manner :)

Having a list will save so much time & make the process so simple! The reason I ask for names of family members is because it saves from any family dynamic awkwardness! So instead of saying "bride with dad & step-mom," I can just say, "Sarah with Tom & Sally." It’s much more professional & family are more likely to respond to hearing their actual name called. I always get so many compliments at the end of family photos for how easy, organized, & seamless it was!

Family Shot list Example:

Couple

  • Bride & Groom together

Immediate Family

  • Bride & Groom with both sets of parents

  • Bride & Groom with Bride’s parents

  • Bride & Groom with Groom’s parents

  • Bride & Groom with siblings (both sides)

  • Bride & Groom with immediate family (parents + siblings)

Extended Family (if applicable)

  • Bride & Groom with grandparents

  • Bride & Groom with grandparents + parents

  • Bride & Groom with extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins)

Optional / If Time Allows

  • Bride with parents

  • Groom with parents

  • Bride & Groom with nieces/nephews

Once we finish up with family photos, we will bring in the whole wedding party (Bridesmaids and Groomsmen) for group photos!! If you’re having a first look, full wedding party photos might happen before the ceremony to leave more time for couple portraits.

This is where all the romance and real emotion come to life. I’ll sneak the two of you away — often around sunset — for relaxed, intimate portraits that feel natural and full of connection. I’ll guide you through gentle prompts (yes, that includes a little kissing 😉) so nothing feels awkward or forced. I typically set aside 15–30 minutes for couple portraits
